Why we're building Observare
If you're a solo developer or a small agency running a handful of sites and services on VPS providers like OVH, Hetzner, or DigitalOcean, you know the drill: UptimeRobot for uptime, certbot emails for SSL expiry, Healthchecks.io for cron jobs, a spreadsheet for everything else.
Four free-tier logins. Four dashboards. Four sets of alert rules. And the nagging feeling that something is going to slip through the cracks at 3am.
We're building Observare to replace that patchwork with one login, one dashboard, and one bill.
What Observare will include
A single low-cost subscription covering:
- Uptime monitoring — HTTP/HTTPS checks with response-time tracking and instant alerts when something goes down.
- SSL certificate expiry monitoring — automatic scans of your endpoints with proactive warnings before certificates lapse.
- Cron job heartbeat monitoring — your scheduled jobs ping us; we alert when a heartbeat is missed.
- Stripe webhook logging & replay — receive, inspect, verify signatures, and replay webhooks to your dev environment.
- Public status pages — simple hosted status pages, branded to match your identity.
Alerts go where you actually see them: email, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, SMS, or a generic webhook.
Who it's for
Indie developers and small agencies (1–10 people) running 3–20 sites or services. People who can't justify Datadog or New Relic but need more than free-tier tooling glued together with hope.
The founder is the customer. Observare is being built by someone who needs it.
What's next
We're in active development. The first feature to ship will be uptime monitoring with email alerts and public status pages. Everything else follows in sequence.
